Requirements

The goal is to match our dogs with loving, responsible, lifelong homes that suit the dogs personality and needs. Please take a moment to read about our adoption policies below and learn how the adoption process works.

As a prospective adopter, we will  require you to complete an adoption application before meeting the dog. Adopters must be at least 21 years of age.  Some of the information that we ask you to provide is:

If you rent your home, we will need your landlord’s name and address as well as a copy of your lease agreement stating your potential new pet would be allowed in your home.

If you have previously owned an animal, we will need the name and telephone number of your Veterinarian.

It can take, at minimum, two days for us to process your application and verify your information. As part of the application process, we will ask that all members of the household come to meet the new potential family member. If you currently have a dog, we encourage the dog to come as well.

• Spay/Neuter (older than 5 months)

• Microchip

• Age-appropriate vaccinations

• Deworming/flea treatment as needed

• Adult dogs tested for heartworm

• Adoption fees are assessed on a case-by-case basis and are listed in individual petfinder profiles.
